Chinese Bridge Dubbing Competition 2022 🎙️🌐

This year I had the privilege to participate in a global Chinese Dubbing competition in which we were given an ocean of videos to choose from and some time to prepare an entry.

The Process

After submission, the videos were edited by the hired editor and posted to this website: http://bridge.chinese.cn/peiyin2022/

For months, people from all over the world were smashing like buttons and sharing on every platform, even using multiple devices to up their votes. Some competitors even had votes in the hundred thousands, it was intense.

Meanwhile, finding my name on the website required the use of Chinese characters ( since I used my Chinese name ”卓远“ ) so voting for me was quite difficult and within 3 months I had a grand total of 5 votes. Needless to say I gave up on getting any prize and was just grateful for the experience of competing

In comes April 2023 and I have this suspicious message on WeChat (China's main communication+ platform):

Apparently, 50 winners chosen not just based on the votes, but based on other criteria. I was one of the 50⭐😁
